Best Mockumentary
Hello! I'm a film production student at the University of Denver and I'll be graduating in 2025. Much of my time outside of my coursework is spent with the DU Film Production Club, where I fulfill the role of president, or producing independent shorts. I hope to pursue work in the film industry; areas I'm considering are producing and casting!
Audition Day is a film that my sister (Lauren), best friend (Katy), and I based the characters and story off of our real high school theatre experience. The film is a testament to the social politics of a theatre program, the influence of those in charge, and how not even the directors can escape the drama.
We worked on this film with a very small self-funded budget, most of which went to a camera, lights, and feeding our volunteer actors and crew.
Tonal inspirations draw from the satirical style of one of my favorite films, "But I'm A Cheerleader," as well as the storytelling and cinematography styles of mockumentaries like "Modern Family" and "The Office."
