Director Biography - Margarita Kariuk

Bio

Margarita Kariuk is a freelance film artist.

Born in 1989 in Moscow in a family of film artists. Since the young age I was immersed in a film scene. I participated in various film projects leading by well-known russian film directors, I worked as cameraman and lighting designer mainly within a film crew conducting by my grandfather – prominent director of photography.
After school I studied cinematography in a Russian film school VGIK. After my education I realized that I want to make films as an author in an independent film field, outside the film industry producing commercial and entertaining stuff.
Currently I finished my first middle-length film, where I try to explore the possibilities of blurring the boundaries between fiction and documentary genres.
