Jayde Anderson is a Director originally from Glendale, Arizona. She has directed four short films three of which she wrote. Her short drama film, Central Office, won Audience Choice and Best Director Awards at the 2017 Scottsdale Short Film Festival. The short horror she directed, Shtriga, was accepted into 5 festivals nationwide as well as 2 international and won 7 awards including 3 Best Director Awards, Best Horror Short, Best Thriller Short and Best Short Film. During Covid Jayde wrote and directed the micro horror, Mother's Gift, which went on to win Best Micro Horror Short at the Austin After Dark Film Festival in Austin, Texas and Audience Favorite Award at the Women in Film Festival in Phoenix, Arizona.
I first read the feature version of this script while on a plane and was laughing out loud and thought "we need to make this film". I'm always fascinated with themes around alcohol or alcoholics, even the first short film I wrote (Central Office) was about one as well and I think it's because I have first hand experience of living with one. I was excited to make this film because it is a comedic perspective rather than the dramatic one I had directed before and it made it more lighthearted for me to be apart of. Attempting Amends is a proof of concept for the feature version that we hope to get off the ground one day, and I truly hope you enjoy watching it!
