Rules & Terms

Rules and Terms for Submission
1. Eligibility
Submissions are open to filmmakers worldwide.
Films must align with the festival’s theme of AI-driven storytelling, AI-assisted filmmaking, or themes exploring AI’s impact on society.
Projects may include fully AI-generated films, AI-assisted films, animated AI films, or traditional films about AI-related topics.
Films must have been completed after January 1, 2023.

3. Submission Guidelines
All films must be submitted via FilmFreeway.
Films must not exceed 10 minutes for Fully AI Films, 15 minutes for AI-Assisted Films, and 30 minutes for traditional films, unless otherwise stated.
Films must be submitted in English or include English subtitles.
A downloadable HD version of the film must be provided for screening purposes upon selection.
Submission fees are non-refundable.
Submitters must ensure all rights, permissions, and clearances are secured for their film.
4. Selection Process
Films will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals, AI experts, and filmmakers.
Selected filmmakers will be notified by March 1, 2025.
The festival reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not comply with the rules.
5. Screening and Awards
Films selected for screening will be showcased at Modex
Studios in Atlanta on March 22, 2025.

Innovator’s Award for Excellence in AI Storytelling
Winners will receive a trophy, digital laurels, and potential sponsorship credits from AI companies.
6. Intellectual Property:
By submitting your film, you confirm that you hold all necessary rights to the project, including music, images, and scripts. The filmmaker retains full ownership of their film but grants AIAIFF the non-exclusive right to screen the submission and use clips, stills, and promotional materials from the film on AIAIFF's website, social media, and other marketing channels for festival promotion purposes.
7. Exclusivity
Films that have previously premiered online or at other festivals are eligible but must disclose any prior screenings or distribution deals.
8. Technical Requirements
Films must be submitted in MP4 or MOV format.
Resolution must be at least 1080p HD.
Ensure proper encoding to prevent playback issues.
9. Code of Conduct
AIAIFF fosters an inclusive and respectful environment. Any filmmaker found violating the festival’s principles or creating a hostile atmosphere will be disqualified.
10. Additional Notes
Submission does not guarantee screening or awards.
Selected filmmakers may be asked to participate in Q&A sessions or promotional activities.
The festival reserves the right to make changes to these rules and terms as needed.
