Director Biography - Sofía Arestegui Rodríguez

Estudiante de cine en Veracruz. Tomé un curso intensivo de diseño de producción en The London Film School (Enero 2017). Su primer cortometraje como directora y guionista es "Atlallican". Normalmente trabaja en el departamento de arte.

Desde muy pequeña acompañaba a mi mamá cuando daba cursos a mujeres indigenas y de bajos recursos. Ellas compartían sus historias y una de ella contó como escapó de su casa para evitar ser vendida. Esa historia marcó toda mi infancia y adolescencia. Desde que sé que el cine sirve para contar historias, he querido contar esta

When I was very young, I used joined my mother when she gave courses to indigenous and low-income women. They shared their stories and one of them told us how she escaped from her home to avoid being trade. That story marked my whole childhood and adolescence, since I know that the whole purpose of films is to tell stories, I wanted to tell this one.
