Table ReadMe (MKE) @Crossings
A screenwriting competition that is in collaboration with the Milwaukee Film Festival (www.MKEFILM.org).
The mission @Crossings is to connect with some well-established film festivals that do not have a screenwriting category. Through our organization, we will add that to these festivals and offer a table read (Read Me) to screenwriters, giving them an opportunity to network with producers and directors at these festivals and invite them to the table read of their script. We open the doors that were not previously open and we believe that makes us STAND OUT and worthy of your submission.
Table Read Me (MKE) will present a table read for 5 Micro Screenplays (10 pages or less) and 1 Short Screenplay (11-20 pages) with a video backdrop, at a location within the Milwaukee Film Festival in October 2019. If we can work out the details with the screenwriter, there will also be one grand prize of full production inside a short film.
SEARCHING FOR MICRO & SHORT Screenplays – with depth of character and story folded up nicely in quick dialog, not redundant scene description.
If you can attend the read, we will provide not only tickets to you for this Read Me event, but will also offer tickets for you to give to directors and producers you meet, so they too can attend your read. It will be a great networking opportunity and a way to bring your script from the page to voice.
Milwaukee is a very affordable location with flights, accommodations, Uber, even a free streetcar called The Hop. Milwaukee is the host city for the DNC 2020 so come early and check out all this city has to offer, the river, brewery tours, and the Milwaukee Brewers hottest team in the league.
@Crossings is a new Film/Screenwriting Network with core founders who have been extremely successful in the film festival industry. We will start with this event in Milwaukee and grow this in the coming years connecting with other well established festivals that have not offered a screenwriting category to their events.
@Crossings we promise to take care of all filmmaker and screenwriters who submit to our events. Just as we care for our actors. We promise proper communication from entry to exit. We will let you know that we received your work, that your work is in review and share the results, via email. We hope to gain 100% satisfaction for participants.
GIVE US YOUR BEST AND WE WILL GIVE YOU A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.
