Having been drawn to film from a young age, he served as the Director of Photography on three feature films—A Reflection of Evil (2021), The Jester (2024), and Bloodline (2025)—before directing his own debut feature, A Season for Love. Terrance's work is dedicated to presenting authentic, uplifting narratives focused on Black experiences, embodying his commitment to positive representation in cinema
As a filmmaker and a bit of a romantic, I believe in the power of storytelling to reflect the nuances of life and the intricacies of human connection. A Season for Love is a story deeply rooted in the emotional landscapes of Black love, told from the perspective of a generation navigating modern relationships while honoring our shared history. This film brings to life the kind of love that exists within quiet, unassuming moments—conversations over coffee, laughter amidst the struggles, and the resilience of people bound by more than mere attraction.
Inspired by films like Love Jones and The Photograph, I wanted to create a story that captures the raw beauty of love and the layers within it. A Season for Love is an exploration of what it means to truly see and understand someone beyond the surface, to uncover layers shaped by past experiences, personal dreams, and often unspoken vulnerabilities. In creating this story, I wanted to showcase characters who resonate with authenticity and complexity, people whose journeys echo our own experiences of finding love, losing it, and bravely rediscovering it again.
Directing this film, my debut feature, allowed me to draw on both my life experiences and my previous work behind the camera, where I learned to capture the beauty in subtlety and intimacy. I hope A Season for Love offers viewers a chance to feel seen, celebrated, and, ultimately, connected to a story that reflects our collective journey toward love and acceptance.
