As Far As Our Feet Take Us
My mother's name is Vesna and she is in her late 40s. For the last seven years she has been living and working in Germany. Vesna rarely talks about herself, and when she does, her thoughts and attitudes remain hidden. Her life seems stable and monotonous, but she actually has another side. Through an autobiographical video diary, I document the moments that reveal the secret that my mother and I carry with ourselves, which ultimately leads the film to it's discovery and culmination.

This film was developed with the belief that something this personal can become universal. The concrete details of my parent’s life, the real struggles, and all the real situations gave the film an authenticity that I hope will make it more powerful and more emotional for all kinds of people. The experience I'm most trying to communicate with As far as our feet take us is that something good always seems to come from something bad. The feeling of breaking something open. I have a need to tell this story, so I wanted it to be for a big audience, progressive and influential, and learn people that doing mistakes is fine, and it’s makes us being human. All you need to be honest and ready to recognize and admit your faults and imperfections.
