As Aye,

As Aye, is a portrait of author and storyteller, Jess Smith. It explores the 'absent presence' of Scottish Travellers in the archive and the landscape.

Through a speculative ethnography of the Tinkers Heart - an ancient stopping place, memorial and heritage site in Argyle and Bute - the film traces tellings of history carried on the tongue, in the body, through the lens, and on the land. At the confluence of three old roads, the heart gathers a contested terrain of remembrance, love, loss and reparation.
