The first edition of ArteSettima Shorts, organized by one of the most important young film magazines of Italy, inaugurates a yearly event of international emerging short cinema already with 1000$ of Prize Pool.
The main goal is to discover and give deserved awards to hidden gems of the contemporary new wave of cinema. With only one category and four awards we want to give absolute freedom to filmmakers worldwide.
ArteSettima is a magazine with more than 60.000 readers monthly that explores the way cinema connects everybody through multiple languages, never being elitist. Through this art, you can experience philosophy, literature, painting, sciences even without being a direct expert of those.
Our Editorial Board will go through all the submissions for the first selection. The best 20 short films will be selected for projection in the wonderful location of Zalib, in the historical Rome neighbourhood of Trastevere, to compete in the finals.
Our Expert Jury will then decide the main prize winner and each of the 20 finalists will also have articles written by our magazine and released on our website and social media (@artesettima and artesettima.it)
One of our sponsors WeShort, an on-demand short film platform, will give an award to their favourite. This one will have free distribution on their network.
The editorial board will also give an award.
In the hope those days will be relieved by the drama of Covid-19, we aim to host wonderful live finals with International Guests and Talks with Directors and Cast of selected shorts
