Director Biography - Robb Rokk

Writer and director, Robb Rokk (aka Robb Smith) is a filmmaker and visual artist who, in 2016, founded the not-for-profit, DeSoto Arts Institute, in Southaven, to pass along his passion for thought-provoking redemptive story-telling to the younger and less experienced. He teaches weekly classes in acting and all aspects of filmmaking to students of all ages. Robb has produced film, music videos, web design, commercials, and corporate videos for over a decade featuring creative motion graphics, invisible VFX, and cinematic camera work.

Working from DAI Studios, Robb and DAI’s last four films have made the top ten cut in the Memphis Film Prize with 2018’s Outside Arcadia screening and winning awards in more than 30 festivals around the world.

Art Snobbery was produced at the 2019 Oxford Film Festival Filmmaking Camp. It was a week long camp where students ages 7 to 12 years old came to learn the basics of filmmaking. Students got hands on with the camera, audio, and other equipment.
