Arpachai, a song of separation

In the borderline between Iran and Azerbaijan, across which people of two nations speak the same language, an Azerbaijani soldier falls in love with an Iranian girl from the nomad tribes herding at border areas. However, as it is not possible for the two to have a face-to-face communication, the soldier is advised by his Iranian fellow soldier, who patrolling the border bridge alongside him, to correspond with her. But they recognize that the alphabets used by the two nations are different, although they speak the same language. Therefore, the Iranian soldier decides to translate the letters and, in this way, they gradually learn the language of each other, however..

Director Biography - Ali Abdali

He started his art career in theatre as a child and has had his foot in filmmaking since 1993 by making some short movies. During the next years of his work, he produced more than 150 minutes TV programs as well as two TV series, one for children and one fictional documentary played on IRIB TV2, for Iranian national TV. In the recent years, he has directed three television films, namely “Annis”, “Return to My Homeland”, and “Sometimes at a Distance, Sometimes Close at Hand.”
