Pilot Synopsis:
Peridium: A maximum security off-world prison.When the worst is realized, and the distant war inevitably breaks out, all outer colony worlds are instantly cut off with no way of knowing if contact will ever be re-established. Prison worlds are last on the list of anyone's concern. Suddenly on their own, with dwindling supplies about to expire, chaos beginning to boil, with the entire corrections personnel deserting their posts on the remaining available ships, the cell doors are sprung and 1500 desperate amoral criminals are faced with an impossible choice: tear each other to shreds in wanton violence, or face something possibly worse; follow Bill Barrow's plan to attempt to come together in any sort of organized manner, overcome their very natures as criminals, and take on an impossible, unthinkable challenge...cooperative survival.
