Arequipa, The White City

Jorge Bedoya was an amateur filmmaker from a well-to-do family in Arequipa. Starting from the 1940s, he used an unconventional format to film: Double 8mm. This project takes up of that recording format the concept of two parallel sequences of frames that interact with each other to depict, from a current perspective, the social class to which the archive belongs.

He is interested in exploring the intersection of film and politics, particularly how the medium intersects with themes of memory. Additionally, he is passionate about preservation of analogue images and sound. Sometimes He collaborates with Desistfilm. Nowadays He is working in a project on the poet César Moro.
