Aren't We Havin' A Good Time
Peter (NICHOLAS LUMLEY - ‘Paddington 2’, ‘Lady Macbeth’) a popular singer/stand-up entertainer of the seventies and eighties, resides in a care home in Nottingham as a result of Alzheimer’s dementia.
Kezz (KIERAN HARDCASTLE - ‘This Is England’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’) his naturally-gifted event host of a grandson, assumed he was all but lost to the condition, until... during a routine visit, he's suddenly shocked and astonished to learn that due to the remarkable effects of music on the minds of those living with dementia - Peter still has the ability to perform his past songs.
Overcome by the desire to reconnect with his inspirational grandfather, Kezz decides to spontaneously and somewhat recklessly pull him out of the home to show him what he has achieved. Lost and confused, Peter re-enters his natural habitat once again.
As well as this film exploring innovative new ways in which we can approach dementia therapy, it is a call to action to prompt further discussions in offering us all new hope.
