Director Statement

This film is based on a few of my experiences while living in South Korea. I wanted to accurately portray what one would see, hear and feel when in the middle of the darker side of Korean's nightlife. This film is meant to be more than a story - I wanted it to be a visual and auditory experience that captures the raw of emotion of residing somewhere where you don't quite fit in. As a result - this movie is sometimes non-linear in nature.

In addition, I wanted show the effects of globalization - how a person can be in a foreign culture and can be completely oblivious to their surroundings - only seeing it through their own biased map - ignoring anything that doesn't match their beliefs. These days, due to technology and certain businesses catering to Americans and other foreigners in South Korea - one could live in Korea long term without ever needing to learn the language or culture.

This movie also explores the human conscientiousness and how we can fool ourselves into what we think reality is.

I hope you enjoy this film. It has been a long, exciting, sometimes difficult, yet rewarding process to complete this project. I hope that through this film, you can be transported to a part of the world that only a few have ever seen.

Sincerely,

Xavier Lee
