A place n the Sun - stories from Tibet in exile.
More than five decades have passed since the Dalai Lama and thousands of Tibetans escaped into exile following the occupation of Tibet by China in 1959. A de facto government in exile was set up immediately after the Tibetans arrived in India. Now sixty years later, the Tibet issue still remains unsolved and the exile government, based in Dharamsala is referred to as the Central Tibetan Administration which functions as a democratic institution with its own elected leaders and representatives. A place in the sun explores the experiences and aspirations of four Tibetan refugees of different generations who serve this symbol of a government of a country that is no longer recognized. With over 150,000 Tibetan exiles spread across the world, the Central Tibetan Administration, aspires to keep the dream of solving the Tibet issue, afloat.
