The 10th annual Apex Film Festival will be hosted at The Screening Room theatre in sunny downtown Tucson, Arizona on May 4th and 5th, 2024. A day pass or weekend pass will get you unlimited access to exclusive short films and music videos from around the world, Q&A panels with filmmakers, and live performances from local musicians.

Rules & Terms

We accept music videos and short films up to 15 minutes in length, completed within the past 18 months. We accept feature films up to 100 minutes, completed within the past 18 months.

    This is the second time a short movie of mine is selected for Apex Film Festival! The communication with the staff of the festival were great! Unfortunately I couldn't attend this year edition of the festival, but heard it went great! Hope to attend in person this festival near future.

    I'm not really sure what to say about this festival. I received some communication early on but nothing as the festival approached. I'm not even sure my film screened since its not listed on the site or social page. Very strange.

    Thanks for your comment. Your film screened in our fourth block on the schedule. We emailed you via FilmFreeway on January 8th, and you replied to us. We then replied to your email on January 9th from hello@apexfest.org, but we never received a reply to that email. Perhaps our mail was filtered to your spam folder — we've had that issue with other filmmakers in the past. We list our email address under the "Contact" section of our page here on FilmFreeway, so hopefully filmmakers will whitelist us or add us to contacts when they submit. We're sad to hear you didn't get our second email, but at least by posting this review you've given us an opportunity to reply to you here. Thank you for being part of our event this year.

    Apex is an outstanding festival and we were honored to have our film screened there in 2022. We flew out from New Jersey and it was well worth it. The theater is excellent and there was a a large, enthusiastic audience in attendance. The Q and A was a blast since there is a thriving film community in Tucson and many turn out for the festival. Hoping to visit again.
