Kylie Aoibheann is an Australian transgender writer and director best known for her work in the horror and thriller genres.
The co-founder of production company Inner Pictures, her short films include documentary Farewell Happy Fields (with celebrated poet Fiona Wright), psychological thriller See for Yourself (streaming in Australia on national broadcaster ABC iView) and queer romance Asexy (featured in Star Observer, FilmInk and ABC Queer).
Her upcoming trans horror short The Dysphoria was a finalist at Melbourne Queer Film Festival's Pitch Pleez and Queer Screen’s Pitch Off, where her script won the Screen Australia Gender Matters Taskforce Screenwriting Prize.
She is in development of her debut feature Deadname, a supernatural horror which was accelerated in the Australians in Film (AiF) Untapped Lab and supported by Screen Australia.
Advocating for authentic LGBTQIA+ representation onscreen, Kylie also works as a story consultant and has appeared on various panels including SXSW Sydney and Triple J's The Hook-Up.
