Antonia Desplat is a french actress and writer based in London. She was born and raised in Paris by a family of musicians before moving to the UK when she was 16. Antonia is mainly known for her work in The Durrells, Operation final, Victoria and Rise of a Star, which was in the 10 shortlisted live action short films for the Oscars 2018. Antonia trained at Drama Centre and East-15 in writing and acting, from where she graduated 2 years ago. Her previous writing projects include a Theatre production called ’Red End’ which follows the journey of a female communist terrorist in Italy in the 1970s which was shortlisted for the LET awards in 2016. This project was also based on real-life characters and events. It is very important for her to write scripts that portray women in their fight to be heard by society. She is keen to get away from the cliché type-cast and wants to tell bold and relevant stories that will generate discussion and change.
