Dedicated to the exhibition and nurturing of diverse forms of media art, Antimatter is one of the premier showcases of experimentation in film, video, audio and emerging timebased forms. Encompassing screenings, installations, performances and media hybrids, Antimatter provides a noncompetitive setting in Victoria, British Columbia, free from commercial and industry agendas.

Since 1998, the quality and creativity of its programming, commitment to audience development, and respect for artists and their work have made Antimatter one of the most important media arts events in Canada, and the world.

The 21st annual Antimatter runs October 12 to 27, 2018, an extended timeline to allow for an expanded focus on media installations and performance.

I did not attend the festival unfortunately, but as usual the communication and organization is top notch. A festival dedicated to showing art to the masses for two decades. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to the moving image.

A great festival that's 20 years old and still going strong! Solid experimental programming and lots of filmmakers in attendance. All this in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Who could ask for more?

The splendid point of this festival is understanding the feeling of the artist very much.
They sent me a poster and a catalogue by air mail every time.
I am encouraged by them and they give me spirit to keep creating works.
I want to support this festival from now on .
I wish the festival will grow more with innovative spirit!
    Thank you "Antimatter [Media Art]"!
