Best Comedic Teleplay
A So-Cal local raised on Disney movies and sitcom reruns, a career in the entertainment industry felt like the perfect way to combine my obsession with film and TV with my love of writing, my love of making people laugh, and above all - my love of spreading love. (Cheesy, I know.
What can I say? I'm a hippie)
I am a proud alumnus of Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Screenwriting and a Minor in Television Production.
I am accomplishing a lot of things as I continue to earn my place in Hollywood but there is still so much I want to do.
I want to be a sought after creative producer — aiming towards one day running my own production company. I already have an animated production logo in mind.
I want to help write a show that will resonate with so many fans, it will be invited to Comic-Con for a panel. (I get bonus life points if people cosplay as the characters.)
I want to continue to be an independent talent manager that helps struggling actors find their place in Hollywood, too. They work so hard and need support from a person who can help push them in the right direction....someone to have faith in them.
I am that person.
I have a great sense of humor and love to make people laugh...
I want to be a comedian - on a stage or through my characters. As long as I'm making people laugh, I'll be happy.
I want to write animated movies and cartoons. One day, I hope to see a child holding a toy of a character I helped give a voice to.
I want to continue to promote diversity on the screen through a wide variety of characters that truly represent the melting pot of people in our everyday lives.
I want to write about independent women, sensitive men, and relationships that go beyond just a man and a woman. I want to write fully fleshed out antagonists who don't think of themselves as the bad guy.
I want to write the next Hallmark Christmas movie or the next Disney Channel cult classic. I don’t really care, I just want to write.
I don’t know what the future will bring. I hope I can achieve all of my dreams.
I'd be proud to accomplish just one of them.
I just want to be paid to do the things I love to do.
(And I want to do it all)
I wanted to write a sitcom that takes viewers back to the memorable high school comedies and musicals of the early 2000s. This script is a parody of the typical high school comedy tropes I grew up with. I wanted to create a truly diverse ensemble cast where the role can go to an actor of any ethnicity or gender identification — as long as they can sing. This series would be filled with a variety of students facing their own set of issues, disabilities, and struggles with their identities. In a perfect world, I would love to go back to the days of sound-stage, multi-cam sitcoms so that the live performances and comedic energy can be brought to every episode.
