Anna of the North - Here's To Another

The video is meant to take the viewer on a visually beatiful journey,
with a narrative that symbolically supports the song.

After having an emotional breakdown due to her boyfriend cheating on her, Anna leaves a party in a hurry, upset and mildly intoxicated.

She disappears into the night... next thing we know,
she’s laying on the ground in the middle of the woods, only surrounded by beautiful Norwegian nature.

After waking up confused, she’s approached by a cute and fury Creature, who guide her to a door, that is mysteriously placed next to them, and makes Anna follow him to it. As Anna opens the door, we get a glimpse of her point of view and realise that it leads to somewhere completely different...

Thus begins Anna’s journey through different states of the human mind, presented as four seperate «rooms», with individual visual characteristics and themes. Anna and the Creature uses the door to enter each room. This concept revolves around Rumer Godden’s «A House With Four Rooms»;

«Everyone is a House with Four Rooms,
A Physical, a Mental, an Emotional and a Spiritual.
Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time,
But unless we go into every room, every day, Even if only to keep it aired,
We are not Complete.»

Anna starts off in the Spiritual room, a magical forest where she meets her spirit animal -- followed by the Mental room, a an antique library filled with all the knowledge in the world. She moves on to the Physical room, where she rows a small wooden boat from one shore to another. Ultimately, she ends up on the Emotional room, which shows her personally meaningful images through a screen projector that makes her gain perspective on life and what she was sad about in the first place.

We don't see the destination of the final door, but we like to think she chooses to go back to the party and be the bigger person.
