Anna
The short film tells the story of Pino, a lame fisherman, and his dog Anna. Inside a dark and dirty place Pino gets out of bed and begins a series of gestures that have always marked his life. Having gone out to the beach like every morning, the fisherman begins work to prepare to go out to sea while Anna runs amused. The leg causes him pain, pain that has made the man prone to outbursts of anger that the Labrador puppy cannot bear in silence. Everything or nothing will change when a singular silhouette stands out on the horizon.

Pietro Scarpino and Daniele Burti, both born in 1995, grow up together in a group of friends who have known each other since first grade and which is still the same today as it was twenty-two years ago.
The passion for football is combined with a passion for cinema which in 2022 takes the form of enrolling in the directing course at the School of Cinematographic Arts in Genoa.
From this path two first works written and directed together, ''Work Hard'' with Michele Olcese and ''Anna'' with Lorenzo Scarpino, come to life.
Anna wants to be without ambition an interpretation of the eternal return, the philosophical theory of Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. We wanted to convey the vulnerability of man in the face of the inexorability of time, for this reason the choice of some narrative elements that could recall this desire of ours. The characterization of the main character instead arises from the desire to focus on the theme of anger which in today's society plays an absolute leading role, hence the quote in the seventh canto of the Divine Comedy. Like the Ouroboros, the snake that bites its tail, an esoteric symbol of the cyclical nature of time, the protagonist of our story repeats the same actions and the same mistakes every day for eternity. The setting of the work is preparatory to the narrative, the fisherman moves constantly observed by an ethereal presence, the Asseu, the characteristic rock of Borgo Renà. The story comes to life right from here, where we were born and raised, the entire work is the attempt to relive those breathtaking adventures that old seafaring men never missed the opportunity to tell us, to which our affectionate memory goes today.
