1) Fully Animated Films whose productions were completed after January 1, 2023 are eligible.

2) Films must not be available online or on streaming services, on or before the festival dates. If your film has been screened online as part of a ticketed film festival, you are still eligible.

3) Films must be submitted online through the festival's official submission platform Filmfreeway.

4) Submissions must be animated works, including short films, feature films, and experimental animations.

5) Each submission must adhere to the specified runtime limits outlined by the festival.

6) Filmmakers must submit an online screener of their film either by uploading it directly to FilmFreeway or by providing a password-protected Vimeo link or an unlisted YouTube link entered into the FilmFreeway online application form.

7) Filmmakers may submit more than one entry. Each entry must be accompanied by a separate entry form and entry fee.

8) Filmmakers must provide all necessary documentation and information required for submission, including credits and contact details. All animated film entries SHOULD have English Subtitles embedded.

9) Films can be in any language as long as they have English subtitles or closed captions, making the festival more inclusive and accessible to hearing-impaired audience members.

10) Eligibility for Student Films:
Student submissions require proof of student status. To qualify for a student discount, a film must be registered as a student project on FilmFreeway and the filmmaker must be, or have been, enrolled in an accredited school at the time of the film’s production. At the time of submission, a picture of the filmmaker’s student ID or relevant documentation must be emailed to programming@animela.in along with their Film Name.
Student films must be submitted within one year of the filmmaker’s graduation date.

11) The decision of the selection committee is final and not subject to appeal.

12) Once a film is selected and the filmmaker has been notified, it cannot be withdrawn from the festival. The filmmaker is responsible for ensuring that the screening copy reaches the Festival desk by the specified deadline. Failure to do so may result in the selection being revoked.

13) If accepted, filmmakers are responsible for delivering their festival exhibition copy (Quicktime Pro Res, 4k, or 1920 x 1080 48HZ), press stills, and a press kit on time.

14) We may use extracts from submitted films for festival publicity and marketing purposes, regardless of whether the film is selected. While press kits are not required for submission, they will be requested if your film is accepted into the festival.

15) Please note that the festival will not be able to provide feedback on individual submissions or specific reasons for the rejection of any film.

16) The Festival Director reserves the right to include any film at their discretion.

17) The Festival shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to any audiovisual or other materials submitted by film applicants, and may not pay any screening fees to any film participant.
