Anarchafeminist Divinations
Anarchafeminist Divinations is a ritual-ethnographic reflection that reimagines the Anatolian practice of coffee-ground fortune-telling through the alchemical lens of analogue film. Employing the photochemical technique of chemigramm, the film transforms a traditionally heteronormative medium of divination into a collective, feminist inquiry into possible futures.
Departing from individual fate and romantic projection, it draws on the concept of transindividuality -the idea that no one is free until everyone is- to propose a more entangled vision of futurity. Grounded in speculative ethnography, the work invites viewers into a shared act of sensing, conjuring, and imagining futures shaped by multispecies kinship and solidarity.
Through layered textures, slow transformation, and symbolic ritual, the film opens a space to restore affective and ecological ties between living and non-living beings, reclaiming divination as a political and relational practice.
