Ana Vijdea was born and brought up in Romania. She studied Cinematography and Media at Babes-Bolyai University (RO), and Film Directing at Syracuse University (USA), on a Fulbright scholarship. Throughout her studies she made several films that were screened and awarded at various international film festivals such as IDFA, True/False, DocEdge among others. In 2017 she was named one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Cinema” by Filmmaker Magazine.
Ana is currently pursuing a master’s degree in documentary filmmaking through DocNomads. Her first semester film, May the Earth Become the Sky, premiered at Doclisboa, where it won the Best Short Film award.
