Co-Directing and producing “An Outfit” has been an eye and heart opening experience for me, to say the least. I didn’t realize how this story would affect so many different types of people, from females to males, from mothers to fathers, from young to mature.
The first time I realized the true depth of the story was at our first table read. Everyone started sharing their personal experiences with the topic and it was just pouring out of them; even the reserved “sound guy” had something to contribute.
Then again I saw and felt the emotions on set. From filming the intimate scenes with tears of joy in my eyes to listening to my crew discussing stories about their mothers and what they went through really made an impact on me; it made me realize that this is more than just a film, it’s going to change the image of how society thinks about women and their bodies after having children.
I want “An Outfit” to be the start of a discussion, a movement for the world to embrace the realities of life; the change of a woman’s body and how to be accepting and confident about it.

I work as a store manager at a well-known women's fashion clothing company in Chicago. For over six years I have connected with clients who have shared their struggle with their body image. I have developed a passion and sensitivity for mothers who struggle with their body changes and confidence after having a child. I was inspired to write this story after my sister came to shop at the store I managed in 2017, desperate for an outfit to wear to a wedding. She was very open about her body struggle and insecurities after giving birth to my niece “Khloe”. I was able to connect with her situation, and after helping her get her outfit for the wedding, it was very eye opening for me. She felt beautiful again, (inside and out.) She even shared her story and a picture wearing her dress on social media. That made my heart melt and since then I decided to pay close attention to mothers and any other customers who struggle with body image. I want to dedicate this film to my mother, sister and sister in law. To my mother; thank you, you're my hero.
