"An Opportunity" follows Rory (Ryanne Parker), a sixteen-year-old non-binary theatre kid who suffers from bullying at school. After their bully (Kirsten Vanderspek) discovers that Rory is playing the female diva lead in the musical, the teasing only increases. When their best friend (Connie Cavaliere) and love interest (Alice Boyce) start to ignore them, how will Rory handle it?

Director Biography - Kat Hansen

Kat Hansen is a high school student and theatre artist based in San Diego, CA. She is heavily involved in her school’s drama program as their president and 2022 JV Improv MVP. Though this is her first film direction, she is no stranger to directing as she has been running/directing her own theatre company since 2020. She has studied at the La Jolla Playhouse Conservatory for acting/technical theatre and plans to attend college for musical theatre. She has a passion for helping other artists achieve their performance goals and plans to pursue a career in the performance and teaching of the theatre arts.
