An Ode To The Glacier
A Scottish snowboarder undertakes a 700km fair means adventure from his home in Norway around continental Europes largest glacier - Jostedalsbreen. Carrying his snowboard, paraglider and climbing equipment on a trailer behind his bike, he aims to explore all the terrain that has been carved out over the last 5000 years by this large mass of ice. Not all goes to plan - with a destroyed tent and bad weather making it challenging to carry everything on a pulk over a mountain pass when the road runs out. The film explores our relationship to these mountains and the fact this glacier might dissapear within our lifetimes due to climate change. The central question posed is how can a country like Norway - a country with such incredible nature and a strong relationship to it - still be looking to expand it's fossil fuel industry and ignore the science on climate change.
