An Exercise

The short was made without a script and shoot on super 8 cartridges. The short was made by my intrinsic ideas about what cinema represents. Just like the title implies this short was an exercise in my filmmaking language and what cinema represents for me, subjectively, and more objectively as an art form. Armed with only a super 8 camera from the '70 and 3 cartridges of film, which I later self-developed in my bathtub, I embarked on a journey just like a caveman which just discovered the first tool, to answer Andrei Bazin's question "What is cinema?". Unfortunately, in the end, I didn't find an answer returning to an observational cinema just like Dziga Vertov did almost a century ago in "Man with a Movie Camera".
