Amyn Khan – Filmmaker, Producer, and Climate Advocate
Amyn Khan is a filmmaker, producer, and climate advocate whose journey began with a background in Electrical Engineering from Nairobi University (1985). His passion for audiovisual storytelling led him to television production, hosting the musical entertainment show Raag & Rhythm on Metro Television and KBC TV. As a music composer and singer, he produced the S.H.I.F.T. song for the Empowered Living Foundation and released the Ale-hi-Salaam devotional CD in 2013.
Dedicated to empowering youth, Amyn has worked with GPAY in Dandora, producing the Uchaguzi wa Amani music video before Kenya's 2013 elections. His MBA in Strategic Management (2007) fueled his focus on impactful filmmaking.
A committed environmental advocate, he has attended COP 20, COP 26, COP 27, COP 28, and COP 29 as a key figure in Kenya’s Climate Change Working Group. His latest documentary, Inspiring Change, builds on the success of Doomsday Beckons Change (2018) and Timeless Grace—an award-winning docudrama on elderly care.
Inspiring Change highlights climate-smart solutions in Kajiado County, Kenya, demonstrating scalable strategies for food security and resilience. Through powerful storytelling, it merges scientific data, indigenous wisdom, and real-life climate action, aiming to influence policy, empower communities, and inspire change.
Amyn’s filmmaking philosophy goes beyond entertainment—his projects serve as advocacy tools, bridging the gap between awareness and action. Partnering with governments, NGOs, and global organizations, he ensures his films reach those who need them most, making storytelling a force for climate justice and sustainable development.
