Experiencing Interruptions?

Amy, War Orphan

Amy, War Orphan is a poignant 3-minute AI-generated short film that juxtaposes two seemingly ordinary mornings in the lives of two young girls—Amy in Pearl Harbor, USA, in 1941, and Ami in Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945. Set against the backdrop of two historic tragedies—the Pearl Harbor attack and the Hiroshima bombing—the story shifts seamlessly between their worlds, capturing fleeting moments of innocence shattered by the horrors of war.

Through vivid 1940s/50s aesthetics in image, color, font, and music, the film underscores a universal truth: the toll of war extends far beyond the battlefield, leaving scars on civilians, families, and future generations. As global conflicts continue today, the film serves as a stark reminder of the human cost of violence and the lessons we must not forget from history.

Created entirely with AI tools—Runway ML for video, MidJourney and Adobe Photoshop for visuals, Suno for music, and ElevenLabs for sound effects and dialogue—the film demonstrates how AI can craft meaningful, impactful stories. Amy, War Orphan is a call to reflect on the past and use technology to inspire change, rather than repeat the mistakes of history.

Director Statement

I started out like any film school grad—dreaming of Oscars and working on big-name shows; and I worked on a few, won a couple of awards.. But then, BAM! The internet came along, and I could see it wasn't just for cat videos (okay, maybe a few cat videos).

So, I jumped headfirst into the digital world, exploring all the weird and wonderful things the internet could do.

Then I stumbled into AI, and let me tell you, it was love at first algorithm. I taught myself everything, became a total AI video nerd, and now I spend my days making mind-blowing videos for social media, online clients, and anyone who needs a bit of AI magic in their life.

Now I'm on a mission to share the love (and the tricks) because the world is changing faster than a TikTok trend, and video is evolving even quicker.
