Amsterdam Freedom International Film Festival -
Bi-Month Awards event with yearly live-screening.

Here at AFIFF we aim to find Gems in 21st Century Independent filmmaking synergy of whom will create future strong projects.

We’re providing unique filmmakers with our promotion through social media and official website. Best ones will be invited to Annual Live Event at Amsterdam, Netherlands that includes Q&A, Red Carpet, afterparty sea trip, international communications with independent filmmakers, closing award ceremony.

Submissions are open for shorts, feature narratives, documentaries and animation as even experimental films and music video.

We are interested in professionally made independent works, as well as in works that make sense or lead to freedom of the human spirit.

The big studios dictate their rules, it’s time to make all equal. It’s time for freedom in cinema!

Every Selected work will be provided with 1 - sentence review that could be used in promotional purposes.

Rules & Terms

Rights
The Filmmakers retain all submission and intellectual property rights

Premiere Policy
There is no premiere policy for any films submitted.
Work-in-progress and films with distribution are accepted.

Screening Format
All films will be screened via DCP files. If filmmakers selected for the festival do not have a DCP, we we will produce one for them free of charge. We will also require .mov, mp4, or equivalent as a backup.Our company works according to the principle of individual approach to every client.

Agreement
Submission of films and participation in Amsterdam Freedom Independent Film Festival implies understanding and acceptance of the above regulations and requirements for this submission. Submission Entrance

All submissions for the Feature Film category are to be paid through FilmFreeway platform. The submission fee is non-refundable.

Promotion
AFIFF can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills or BTS for promotional purpose

Dates&Place
AFIFF have rights to change date and place of the Event.

    No communication after film got selected. No reply to emails. Their website hasn't been updated for months. Bad experience.

    Unfortunately we had the same experience as the previous reviews: after receiving the news that our film was selected, there was no communication, no possibility to get in touch and no word from the festival. It's shameful and very disappointing.

    Beware: do not submit to this festival.

    I was humbled and beyond excited to be included by this festival, but quickly found out they seem to be in it only for the money: multiple reviews stated being selected by the festival, but never receiving any word from them since. The same thing happened to me:

    - After being selected they never uttered a word, even after multiple e-mails & attempts to reach out
    - They have not updated their website in a long, long time with no selected winners
    - As I wrote before, multiple filmmakers have had the same experience.

    I am beyond disappointed and saddened that organisations like this prey on indie & beginner film makers. Again: do not submit your film to this festival. You deserve better.

    we were informed through filmfreeway that our music video was a winner but we never had any communication whatsoever from the festival. We sent them a couple of emails and they never replied. Even their website looks like it hasn't been updated for the last 5-6 months. We're humble and respectful and we don't expect any special treatment, we're aware of the many great artists out there but we're sorry to say that they're quick to take the money, give you some laurels and then nothing. Disappointing to say the least. And living in Amsterdam myself, I'm sorry to say this happened in this city. We deserve better.
