Among Snakes

Brooke Mulkins caught the entertainment bug early on in life. Having been a successful child actor, appearing in numerous print ads and commercials, she took a break from being in front of the camera and decided to focus on her education. With plans to attend law school, Brooke graduated magna cum laude with a pre-law degree, but law just wasn’t appealing anymore, as the film bug bit once more.

In 2015, choosing to ignore her dual degrees, she left the east coast for Los Angeles and took up her position behind the camera. Finding her way into costume design, Brooke quickly realized that creating characters and shaping their story was where she excelled. She began writing independent feature films, eventually connecting with Stephanie Moore when she decided it was time to bring her mother’s story to life in the form of a television series. Brooke now boasts writing accolades such as finishing as a Finalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Script Contest and as a Second Rounder in the Austin Film Festival for her writing team’s Fire with Fire. Moreover, Brooke and Stephanie were recognized as Endorsed Writers by Coverfly.

Independently, Brooke currently has two options on feature films and hopes to see them come to life soon!

Outside of filmmaking, Brooke fuels her passions by reading select fantasy novels, exploring the world of Azeroth, playing tabletop RPGs, and listening to dramatic movie scores as a backdrop to her life.
