Director Statement

My art explores the constant tension between creation and destruction. Through my art, I question our existence in the world and its fragility by exposing the ways in which we view the world, both scientifically and mythically. Many of my pieces feature a futile attempt, which may seem desperate and a bit clumsy, to cause something that goes against the laws of nature to happen.
I also am informed by feminism, power relations, and questions about resources and their distribution.
My art derives, in part, from engagement and connection with the Jewish tradition, with its many stories, ideas and practices. My work constitutes a modern reading and retelling of the biblical narative that strives to transform ancient culture into a contemporary and relevant one, perhaps written in archaic words, but whose essence is here and now.
