Director Biography - Amy V Bassin

Amy Bassin, in collaboration with writer Mark Blickley, experimental videos represented the United States in the 2020 yearlong international world tour of "Time Is Love: Universal Feelings: Myths & Conjunctions," organized by esteemed African curator, Kisito Assangni. "Widow's Peek: The Kiss of Death was nominated for Best Experimental Film at the City University of NY 10th Annual Film Festival. “Speaking in Bootongue" was awarded Semi-Finalist at the International Festival of Experimental Video and Film, Bilbao, Spain. In addition, the videos were screened at the London Experimental Film Festival, Delete TV, and toured internationally as part of the Seattle-based Exquisite Corpse film, "The Space Between Cities. "

Exhibitions, both national, international, and online include "Drawing Challenge," Jason McCoy Gallery, NY; "In Praise of Strong Spines," Tussle Projects, NY; "Dream Streams," Governor’s Island, NY; "Suffrage and Struggle." Salve Regina University, Newport, Rhode Island; "The 1st Feminnale of Contemporary Art," National Museum of Fine Arts, Kyrgyzstan. Her latest book is the text-based fine arts photography collaboration with writer Mark Blickley, "Dream Streams," (Claire Songbirds Publishing House, NY). She is co-founder of the international artists' collective, Urban Dialogues, and lives in NYC.
