American Indian Origin Stories
My film is a documentary of Dine (Navajo) Origin stories and their ancestorial lands in New Mexico. This story explains petroglyphs done by the Dine (Navajo) people before colonization. This film follows two Dine Hatali (Navajo Medicine
man) and their debriefing of a history that was thought to be lost. The film is set up in a way to protect the Navajo sacredness. This is a glimpse of what a world was like before the Colonial take over.

A young Dine (Navajo) man who asked and collaborating with the elders.
Collaborating with the elders to promote a stoppage on rewriting Indigenous History and facts. We want to show the beauty in American Origin stories for one of the many tribes that span across the Americas. We are speaking up and formatting film in a way to protect ourselves but also promote ideology and theology that is not putting a Eurocentric framework on how an Indigenous person should make a documentary film. We are advocating for help and to engage listeners who are non-Indigenous to the America's to listen and be receptive of the elders and their teachings. The last thing is we are one of many Indigenous tribes. We are a very beautiful diverse community. They're are over five hundred federally recognized tribes and that's not including the ones not federally recognized. That being said our stories are not a blanket for all Indigenous people. Every tribe has their own beautiful stories and complex way of telling their story, We do not speak on the whole Native community nor the whole Dine (Navajo) community because someone else can add to our story. It is not ours to own. It was given to us long ago orally. Thank you for your time and remember to treat and respect your elders with care and love.
