Ambient Piano No. 1

Short Synopsis:

An exploration of the idea of a musical composition being its own kind of world– in this case, a piano world.

Long Synopsis:

This music video is an exploration of the idea of a musical composition as its own world, in this instance a ‘piano world’ where the music is algorithmically generated and the video produced via generative AI.

Conceptually, I started with the general idea of algorithmically composed piano music and its associated imagery of various automata — robots, machines, cyborgs, steampunk tech — and then I began to explore this piano world’s performance, factory, urban and garden spaces at different times of day and with differing levels of sociality and isolation, along with a range of color palettes ranging from monochromatic to vivid and varied.
