Director Biography - Omar Urcid

(Mexico City 1990)
Video artist graduated from Communication Sciences by the Benemérita
Autonomous University of Puebla. Omar Urcid studied Film Direction at the Film school Arte7.
Omar Urcid has made several videoarts that have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Selected at the KINOKI International University Film Festival, in the category of experimental short film.
His visual work was exhibited in the Visiting Room, Mexico, and in The Debut Series,
England. Participant of the video art contest "Visions of art" of MUAC UNAM with the short film "Soy y No Movimiento".
He was part of the Mexican video art compilation of the International Videoart Festival IVAHM / Madrid, Spain.
Winner of the Artistic Innovation Scholarship, of the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture of Puebla in the category of Art in Motion with the project “Useless Weight of the Object” Experimental feature film, (2015).
His appropriation work “La Madre, El Padre y El Chambelàn” has been selected in national and international festivals. (Reappropriation Days, Ultracinema, CODEC, Digital Culture Center)
