Amadeus Redha is an Iraqi-born Writer-Director based in London. He has been shortlisted in the 2024 Slick Film Fund, and the Film the House Competition. Amadeus is also a member of the British Arab Writer’s Group and a Screenplay judge at the 2024 British Short Film Awards.
As an Arab that grew up in a marginalised community in London, he cares deeply about representation. His favourite genres are drama and comedy, and he has a vested interest in creating inclusive films that tell optimistic, hopeful stories – ones that show us a better version of what the world could be.
His first short, The Rally (2024), which he wrote and executive produced, has been selected at the BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival, the BIFA-qualifying North East International Film Festival, and won $10,000 from the inaugural Headline Horizons competition on the WAVES app. His newest short, a comedy film called Olympus Lost (2025) which he wrote and directed, has just wrapped post-production and is currently doing the festival circuit.
Amadeus will also mark his audio drama debut as a writer in a writers room for a radio drama series run by Theatre503 and Riverside Radio in London.
