Am I Indian Enough?

"Am I Indian Enough?" is a short documentary produced by White Crane Productions.
This production company is comprised of Karly Cywink, Jay Goldman, and Jimmy Kwan, all third year student at Ryerson University in the RTA Media Production program.

The documentary explores the issue of self-identity and self-determination of Indigenous millennials as they live in the urban setting of Toronto On. The film follows the director, Karly Cywink, a 20 year old Ryerson Student; as well as Jason Staats, a 28 year old NAMERES Caseworker; and Josie Slaughter, a 21 year old Ryerson Student. Each person brings their own perspective when talking about self-identity within Toronto and why they feel a disconnect from their culture. The documentary further navigates through their own experiences, as they try to find their own identity.

Director Biography - Karly Cywink

Karly Cywink is a young Indigenous creator from a town outside London Ontario.

She has immerse herself in he media world since she was 11 years old. Cywink has followed her passion to Toronto where she attends the RTA Media Production program at Ryerson University.
Armed with her passion for media, she takes pride in providing her best effort to produce true and quality content.
Through her career at Ryerson, Cywink has won 2 awards for Best Director for shorts she has created.
Cywink is still exploring and learning her culture and where she comes from and believes that it is a constant journey. Karly Cywink hopes to continue to shape the media landscape with sharing her experiences, and elevating the voices of others.
