Working in the camera department in film & TV for many years, Emma progressed into self shooting her own documentaries. Her first project in development 'Altruistic' was chosen for production support by DirectorsUK and ARRI and went onto win Runner Up Best Documentary in their 3day, 3min documentary challenge in 2018.
From here Emma has continued developing her slate of work and has had further film commissions, nominations and awards for her film work.
Altruistic is an important story I wanted to tell to celebrate the progressive ideologies of the UK at a time when I thought we could all do with some positivity, and to show each other support in unsettling times. The family's story celebrates the UK's democratic processes in progressing laws to help achieve equality for all. It's important to remember this and celebrate inclusivity around the world. The film will be used for inclusivity work within schools and work places via a leading charitable organisation based in the UK.
