Director Statement

One day during the pandemic, I was on a Uber home, and the driver I met was a newbie who just started his first day with the job. He mentioned that how he had to to force living under the constant stress of “death-seeking will” just awhile ago. The life of ordinary people can best reflect on the current state of the time-being. This script was created under the thought of grabbing a complex and enriched emotion from a normal Chinese man into a film. I would say this short film is more of a "Documentary" instead of a story. I simply follow the pace of time and faithfully recreate what happened with the respectful mind... People like the protagonist of the short film do exist everywhere in our society...
I am always a fan of works that are fulfilled with emotions of the ordinary people surrounding us. It is my great and ultimate honor to be a part of this project. As director Hou Hsiao-hsien said, "I always think that movies should be made like this: plain, simple, easy to watch. But those who seek deeper can see them deeply.
