Alone
Logline: A young couple spends their last day on earth together before being evacuated by extraterrestrials.
Synopsis: A young, happy couple comes home for the last time to enjoy each other's company and forget everything. Ginger wants her boyfriend, Raymond, to forget all his troubles just for one night. She wants to help him draw strength from his fears, to overcome them, and ease his mind back to the way it was.
What better way than the many luxuries of a charming country estate with spectacular views hidden in the mountains. She starts the process by helping him overcome what she believes is an irrational fear, submerging him in water and teaching him how to swim.
When this proves to be a disaster, she is just fortunate to be at his side later in the evening as they eat their last meal. Both are calm, even share some laughs; however, they both know what's coming and it weighs heavily on their minds, especially Ginger's. She retires for the rest of the night and trusts that privacy can help ease his mind further.
Suddenly, a scream wakes her up. She rushes to wake him from a nightmare and pulls him out of it. She tries to help in the only other way she knows how. They start to dance and stay clutched in each other's arms. Then it happens. Complete blackout. Just as Raymond checks all the lights, she can hear them coming.
Mysterious lights from a ship flood into the estate and drench her. Shocked and in disbelief, she hesitates to leave. He manages to convince her to go with him, not knowing what lies ahead but that this may be the only way to survive. There is no going back. They must evacuate. They step out together, ready to embark on a frightening new journey.

I'm a filmmaker born in El Centro, raised in Escondido. Those of you local to San Diego know where those places are. My creative venture started with writing, which led to screenwriting, which has led me to this point. I have been exposed to numerous roles in the production process with formal training from the New York Film Academy in Burbank, CA, where I learned the basics of filmmaking and the value of collaborating with like-minded artists who share my passion. I've also been a background actor and production assistant on television and film, and an apprentice under mentor and producer Daniel Sollinger, who I met through the Film Connection program.
After writing several screenplays, getting constructive feedback, and getting nowhere with script contests, I decided to produce and direct my own stories. Some will tell you that you need to go to school for filmmaking whether its narrative or documentary or animation, but there are pros and cons to this, mostly cons, namely tuition.
You can learn all the following on your own: The different kinds of professional camera equipment and their function, the process of acquiring film permits and insurance for locations, write in narrative and fictional form with screenplay software, and learn the job description for each person on set. This does not have to cost as much as it would take to earn a Bachelor's. Pick up a camera and start filming. It's a cliche I take to heart because that's how I started. Now I endeavor to shoot my first feature.
I invite you to follow me on my journey. If you do, I will follow you on yours. Catch the latest news on my films and Like this page. I promise I will Like you back.
I believe that life exists on other planets. It's not difficult for me because I've always had this inclination for exploring the unknown, a lot of filmmakers are the same. I grew up a christian and my mother was raised catholic but, for me, this has nothing to do with religion; however, some people think there is a co-relation between extraterrestrials and God.
I hear all the time about how scientists look for planets in the farthest reaches of the universe that are similar to earth but I think that's a one-sided approach. If they're looking for extraterrestrial life then I think they need to expand their search because there's so many questions we don't have answers to. Would extraterrestrials have more advanced technology? Would they need oxygen to survive? How far back does their history go? Does their species evolve? Are their other races and/or life forms like theirs? Would they care about humanity? Do they experience conflicts and times of peace like we do?
If they're looking for planets that could support humanity then I would understand that because there may come a time when earth can no longer support life and that's where this story falls in line. You have two characters who are coming to terms with the fact that extraterrestrials do exist. It's not a possibility, it's a fact. The earth isn't dying necessarily, it's reaching a point where it can no longer support mankind and we need help evacuating to another planet.
Not everyone would want to leave and I think it's important to understand that. After all, we were born here, raised here, and this is all we've ever known. But then you have to ask yourself would you be willing to start a new life on another planet if it meant living in an artificial environment like a dome?
