"Aloha", with its acerbic humour, narrates Jairo's journey from the idyllic dream of living in Hawaii to the fear of facing the hardships of prison after a series of accidental murders. Amid embarrassing situations, intertwined with a humorous dose of violence, the plot follows the descent into hell of a charismatic yet constantly irritated protagonist with the mundane dream of an effortless life. By his side, forming an unlikely duo, is Barãozinho, his depressive half-brother, who seeks medication for every new passion he encounters in the plot. This unusual duo strengthens the film's sarcastic humour with a vibrant aesthetic and a mocking tone. The film weaves absurd and ironic situations into a farcical plot, resulting in a narrative full of sarcasm. Additionally, "Aloha" prompts deep reflection on the banality of violence in the contemporary world.
