All Along the Suwannee

After a family tragedy, a group of friends must look for a new place to congregate. What they find is a shabby, overlooked piece of property on the banks of the Suwannee River that no one else seems to want. Through hard work, passion, and friendship, they transform the run-down lot into a rural paradise.

Director Statement

When I set out to bring All Along the Suwannee to life, I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into. All I knew were the facts on the surface: somewhere in the Florida wilderness, a group of friends was building a fish camp. What lay beneath, however, was a story that was so much more human than I could have imagined. Staying with my subjects for four days deep in the wilderness, I felt the true power that a place can hold. I came to understand the camp as an outlet for grief, a form of community, and a testament to friendship. This film is a glimpse into a lifestyle so different from my own, and a feeling that was so familiar.
