In 2013 Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival introduced "Algoshorts", the world's first public festival of algorithmic film, garnering major media attention internationally. This year sees a return of Algoshorts, at Falmouth Poly. Based in an iconic listed building in the heart of Falmouth they are a thriving charity, promoting engagement in the arts, sciences and Cornish history through film, live events, exhibitions, lectures and workshops. We will be running an afternoon of films, preceded by filmmaker talks, in the Poly's excellent full-size cinema.

Do you have a film about understanding life as a scientific concept? Perhaps it's genetics, exobiology, technology, the history of life on the planet - all of these are possible topics for this year's Algoshorts. Additionally, films about algorithmic technology, or made with algorithmic technology, are particularly welcome.

Only short films are acceptable, up to 15 minutes. They must be on the themes of algorithms or "decoding life". Non-English language films must have subtitles.
