Director Biography - Juan Fernández Gebauer

Juan's work mixes fiction and documentary. His films have won awards at festivals such as Mar del Plata, Bafici, Rome, Toulouse, Malaga, Jechon and Oaxaca, among others. With "Hijos Nuestros" he won the award for best director under 35 at the Mar del Plata Festival. "Chaco" is exhibited among the native communities of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay as material to disseminate the indigenous struggle and serves as testimony in The Inter- American Court of Justice in the trials for the Namqom case. In 2019 and 2020, Juan held two residencies in Tokyo where he filmed 能 (Noh), his latest film winner of a mention for best film at the last Mar del Plata International Film Festival. In 2021 he directed the series "Supernova" for Amazon Prime and was selected as a talent at the Berlinale. Currently, he is developing two new projects in Berlin: "Gianni Vattimo: The Weak Thought" and "The Hands of Perón".
