Alexandra Münzner (b. 1996) studied art and German for the teaching profession at grammar schools (first state examination) and Visual Communication with a focus on Film and Moving Pictures (artistic degree) at the University of Kassel and the Kunsthochschule Kassel. Her graduation film was supported by the Hessian film fund Hessen Film & Medien (HF&M). In her artistic practice, she initiated the ongoing research project "Unsafe Desire," which examines the intertwining of desire and violence, as well as the associated power structures, body politics, and social taboos, in multimedia form. At the invitation of the artist collective Britto Arts Trust, she participated in a research residency program in Bangladesh lasting several months, culminating in her solo exhibition "Unsafe Desire" in Dhaka in 2023. In 2024, she completed a Visual Arts Internship with Britto Arts Trust and worked as a resident artist at the Bindu Space for Artists collective in Kathmandu, Nepal.
